Angry about the reports of inadequate security at a football game on Wednesday, Egyptians clashed with police in the cities of Suez and Cairo leaving two dead and about 900 injured. Seventy-nine people died on Wednesday during the football riot in Port Said. An emergency parliamentary session was called as a result of this riot in demands for Egypt’s military-led government to make reforms and improve security. Many think that the football match tragedy was organized and spurred by political strife, while members of the Egyptian military refuse to take responsibility for what happened.
